Divine Appointments in the Practice of Law ~ Called to the Bar & Called to the Purpose of God ~ Back by popular demand, Karen will share how she was initially disillusioned about whether or not a Christian could make any difference on Bay Street. Bay Street initially struck her as being only about making money, achieving billable hours and entertaining clients.  In her 20 years of practice, God showed her how He could use her in many ways to achieve His purposes in her work.  She started to discover how many of her daily appointments were in fact divine appointments, with purposes bigger than just processing her files in the usual expected manner.  She will briefly discuss the ten most significant ways that God used her law career for His purposes.
Fruit of the Spirit Panel - Peace - In the Fruit of the Spirit panel, she will briefly share what God has taught her about finding the peace that passes understanding, even in the midst of the storms.

Pursuing the Upward Call of God
The life of faith is ultimately about the attainment of character, and we encounter many stages in the process. All the while, God cares passionately about us, and is working through our calling, circumstances, challenges, choices & changes. What kind of leaders do we need to be for God to trust us to influence our world for Christ? Ruth will wrap up the day's discussions, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, exhort us to pursue the "upward call of God" that is upon our lives.
