To determine if there is a local chapter already established in your area, please click here to view the existing Local Chapter page. The Local Chapter Coordinator in your area will be pleased to meet with you and inform of you of the activities scheduled in your area.
Establishing a Local Chapter
Christian Legal Fellowship (CLF) fully supports its members and their Local Chapters through assistance with the facilitation of events, guest speakers, development of chapter websites, prayer and chaplaincy support, and provision to Chapter Coordinators of contact information of the lawyers in their areas.
In May 2008, CLF created a Taskforce to determine the best means to establish and support local chapters and their leaders. With this information in hand, CLF has a number of working documents, strategies, resources and suggestions to offer lawyers who are interested in establishing a local chapter.
Purpose of Chapter
Being a member of a Local Chapter offers opportunities to enter into fellowship with other Christian lawyers who face the same challenges both in their practices and personal lives. Hopefully, this time meeting together will encourage the following:
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near. Hebrews 10:23
Networking
One of the most important aspects of the local chapter is the link with CLF and the network of CLF members across the country. Membership in CLF is strongly encouraged and required for the core group of leaders if your chapter becomes affiliated or listed with CLF. We would also appreciate your help in recruiting new members.
Chapter Status with CLF
All CLF chapters must be formally affiliated with the national CLF organization. As such, CLF chapters may receive designated funds which attract tax-deductible receipts from the CLF national organization. Further, chapters are authorized to use the CLF logo and name.
