At the biggest Christian Legal Institute to date, undergraduate students, professors, lawyers, law students, theologians, pastors, and jurists came together to explore contemporary Canadian issues through a Christian worldview. 

Can the state force children to participate in classroom activities that violate their religious
beliefs so that other students will not be discomforted by their absence? 

Christian Legal Fellowship, the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, and the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Ontario form coalition as interveners in Christian Medical and Dental Society v. College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Over 50 students from 9 law schools across the country gathered at uOttawa to gain practical skills for the study and practice of law, and to reflect upon the integration of faith with law, and their vocational calling to serve God through the legal profession.

“So three lawyers, a Catholic, an Evangelical, and a Mormon are sitting in a lounge over lunch when…” sounds like the start of a bad joke, but it’s exactly what happened at the University of Alberta as students, faculty, and local practitioners gathered to discuss the role of religion in the legal profession.

CLF urged the Ontario government to take action to redress the situation currently faced by Ontario physicians by amending Bill 84 and taking a stand against Charter violations by protecting conscience for institutions and health care professionals.

Legal restrictions on certain explicit materials are justifiable and constitutional, particularly to the extent that such materials can be linked to harm.

The Supreme Court of Canada has granted leave to hear appeals from two appellate courts involving Trinity Western University (TWU)’s law school.

The government must not dictate to religious institutions how to teach (or not to teach) the very religion that animates their identity.
